What is baby corn

Baby corn, also known as baby sweet corn, is corn that has been harvested before it has reached maturity. They are very small in size, just a few inches long and look like tiny ears of corn on the cob. They are very crunchy with a subtly sweet flavor, that is pleasant but not overpowering.

Air fryer baby corn recipe ingredients

  • Baby corn. Can be found fresh, frozen, or canned. If using frozen make sure to thaw completely before using. If you are using canned, drain the water and rinse them very well.
  • Salt and black pepper. Great kitchen seasonings to bring out the flavors of the other ingredients.
  • Ground paprika. Has a subtly sweet flavor and adds a nice red color to the baby corn.
  • Dry ranch mix. Adds a wonderful ranch flavor to the baby corn. Use your favorite store-bought or homemade ranch mix.
  • Olive oil spray. A little bit is used so that the baby corns get nice and crispy when air fried.

Where to buy

Fresh baby corn might be a little hard to come by because harvesting it is a very labor-intensive process done by hand. As a result, baby corn is not as widely available as regular mature sweet corn.

Try looking for it at your local farmer’s markets in the summer, in the produce section at Trader Joe’s or other specialty shops, or in a neighborhood Asian market.

Frozen or canned baby corn is by far the most common and is available at many grocery stores across the United States.

Air Fryer Baby Corn Recipe

  • 8 oz baby corn
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry ranch mix
  • olive oil spray
  • black pepper


  1. Wash baby corn. Slice in half.
  2. Season corn with paprika, ranch, black pepper and salt. Place in the air fryer basket.
  3. Spray with some oil and cook for 8 minutes at 400 degrees. Shake once during cooking.


  • Store leftovers int he fridge for up to 5 days. Reheat in the air fryer.
  • Add your favorite seasoning. Or just salt and pepper.
  • Do not overcrowded the basket
